Anterior and posterior colporrhaphy
CRC2,539,620.07
It is a surgical procedure to "lift" the anterior and posterior wall of the vagina and prevent the bladder or rectum from protruding. It is usually done after a vaginal delivery in which an episiotomy has been performed or when a vaginal tear occurred. Colporrhaphy is related to a better muscle tone of the pelvic floor, which for many women amounts to a rejuvenation of the vagina, since surgery reinforces the vaginal wall and reduces excessive dilation resulting from numerous births.
