Exploratory laparotomy

Exploratory laparotomy is a surgery in which the abdomen is opened to find out the cause of certain problems, such as abdominal pain or bleeding, that cannot be detected with other tests. The intervention does not present any pain because it is done while you are asleep under general anesthesia and it is especially useful, if the cause of the problem is found during the procedure, treatment is usually performed immediately.
