Laparotomy with resection of intestinal bridles

Laparotomy is a surgery in which an incision is made through the abdominal wall in order to eliminate intestinal flanges. The intervention does not present any pain for the patient because it is performed while asleep under general anesthesia.
Flanges or adhesions is a congenital obstruction of the digestive tract and is one of the most frequent neonatal surgical pathologies. If no treatment is performed, blocked parts can die, leading to serious problems. But with immediate medical attention, bowel obstruction can often be treated successfully.
