A unilateral orchidopexy is a surgical intervention to lower one of the testicles into the scrotum. Your child may need to have this operation done on a testicle.
Normally, before a male baby is born, his testicles descend into the scrotum (the bag that houses the testicles). However, sometimes one or both testicles remain in the abdominal cavity instead of moving within the scrotum.
