Colorectal low anterior resection

Surgery is usually the main treatment against rectal cancer. Colorectal cancer occurs in the colon or rectum, hence its name. Surgery is the most common treatment to treat all stages of this cancer. Even if the doctor removes all the cancer that is seen at the time of surgery, some patients are offered chemotherapy or radiotherapy after surgery to kill any cancer cells that might have remained in the area.
