Cholecystectomy

Cholecystectomy is the safe and affordable surgical procedure performed to remove a diseased gallbladder: a vesicle that is infected (cholecystitis), that is inflamed, or that is blocked (obstructed) because it is full of gallstones. The latter is a pear-shaped structure that is located below the liver, it has the function of storing bile, which is a substance produced by the liver, to release it to the intestine after eating as part of the digestion process of the fat.
