Radiotherapy by modulated intensity (IMRT)

Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) uses linear accelerators to safely and painlessly deliver precise doses of radiation to a tumor, while minimizing the dose received by surrounding normal tissue. It is especially indicated for tumors of the oropharyngeal region (head and neck), prostate cancer, tumors in childhood, re-irradiation, certain breast tumors and abdominal location.
