Drainage of abscess or hematoma external ear
$500.00
The intervention is carried out through local anesthesia, and through the ear canal. A small incision is usually made to open the abscess, and sometimes it may be necessary to leave a small drain for several days to keep it open and facilitate healing.
Abscesses of the external auditory canal are formed as a result of infection of a hair follicle or a sebaceous gland. Acute hematoma of the pavilion of the ear is a disease characterized by the accumulation of blood under the pericondrial layer of the pavilion of the ear. The cause of this is usually due to closed trauma, and if left untreated leads to the appearance of a deformity commonly known as "cauliflower ear" or "wrestler ear."
