Neck dissection subtotal unilateral

Neck dissection is a major surgery that is done to remove lymph nodes that have cancer, the amount of tissue and the number of lymph nodes that are removed depend on how far the cancer has spread. In this type of neck dissection, all lymph nodes are removed. Less tissue is removed from the neck than with total dissection. This surgery can also preserve the nerves in the neck and, sometimes, the blood vessels or muscle.
