Total hip replacement

A total hip replacement is a surgical procedure that replaces the hip joint, including the acetabulum (the hip socket) and the head of the femur. The cartilage and bone of this joint have been worn out due to arthritis or degenerative joint disease, the bone beneath the cartilage begins to develop spurs and various irregularities that produce pain and decrease mobility. This procedure is also known as total hip endoprosthesis.

This procedure includes hospital expenses, surgeon fees, attendant fees and anesthesiologist fees.
