The lower part of the leg has two bones that connect the leg to the ankle: the tibia and the fibula. The tibia (the shin bone) is the largest bone of the two and is located in the inner part of the lower leg and the fibula is much smaller and is located in the outer part. The tibia fracture is one of the most frequent bone fractures, usually caused by high-energy impacts such as traffic accidents, accidents or sports injuries. Fractures usually need 4 to 6 weeks for clinical healing of the bone, although sometimes it may take longer.
