Uveitis is an inflammation inside the eye that affects one or more of the three parts of the uvea: iris (which gives color to the eye), ciliary body (behind the iris, where the aqueous humor occurs) and Choroidal (behind the retina). They are classified according to their anatomic location in anterior, intermediate, posterior uveitis and panuveitis. Anterior uveitis is the most frequent form it affects the iris (iritis) and sometimes the ciliary body (iridocyclitis). The intermediate uveitis affects the ciliary body and structures close to it. In posterior uveitis the choroid is affected (choroiditis), although inflammation often also affects the adjacent retina when in direct contact with it (chorioretinitis). In some occasions, the three parts of the uvea are compromised, giving rise to a panuveitis.

This procedure is only available for people over 15 years old.
