Cataract surgery is a safe surgical procedure that involves the removal of the crystalline (natural lens of the eye) of the patient, which has lost its transparency due to the passage of time or for other reasons and is replaced by a monofocal intraocular lens (IOL) which will perform its same function.
Monofocal intraocular lenses only have one focus and is intended for distance vision, providing good distance vision without glasses.
