Orthodontics is the part of dentistry responsible for the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of alterations of position, relationship and function of tooth-maxillofacial structures. These alterations can be hereditary or acquired such as finger sucking habits, accidents, premature loss of temporary pieces or other causes, if these are not treated can cause tooth decay, loss of support structures, chewing problems and other more serious affectations in the future.
