The equinovarian foot is a congenital condition (present at birth) that causes the baby's foot to turn inward or downward, may be mild or severe and occur on one or both feet. In general, babies born with an equinovarian foot are healthy and have no other health problems; keep in mind that the equinovarian foot is not a painful condition for the baby.

Treatment should begin one or two weeks after birth, correction methods include from manually manipulating the feet over time to surgical repair of the foot. After the correction, your child should be able to perform various physical activities and lead a normal life.
