Retained third molar surgery

The removal of the third molars is perhaps the most frequent surgical procedure performed in dentistry, since they are the last pieces to erupt, they often have no room to accommodate, being in a retention position and causing pain, infection or other dental problems. To prevent future problems, some dentists and oral surgeons recommend removing wisdom teeth even when they still do not cause any problems.
Third molars are popularly known as "wisdom teeth" or "cordales."
