Dental prophylaxis (preventive dental treatment)

Prophylaxis is the dental hygiene procedure whose objective is to clean the dental surfaces, removing the dental tartar or calcified plaque that is attached and accumulated in those areas of the teeth that are not accessible with brushing or flossing.
Dental prophylaxis is performed to prevent subsequent problems, therefore, it should be done at least twice a year to maintain a healthy gum and teeth, but above all ensure good oral health.
