Pericoronitis treatment

Pericoronaritis also known as pericoronitis, is the infection of the soft tissues that surround a tooth when it, in its eruptive process, is partially covered by them. This infectious process usually develops during the eruption of wisdom teeth, although it can also be common with the eruption of the first molar.
The initial treatment is the assessment of the dentist, generally, this will be accompanied by a professional cleaning and drainage of the affected area, once the inflammation has improved or the infection of the area has been remitted, the dentist will assess the need to eliminate the tissue that partially covers the tooth in eruption or in those cases in which the molars cannot erupt due to lack of space, its removal is recommended to avoid future complications, such as infections or malocclusion problems arising from its eruption.
