Scraping and smoothed (open field per quadrant)

Root scraping and smoothing (RAR) is the technique used to remove bacterial plaque and tartar both at the supragingival level (on the tooth and above the gum), and at the subgingival level (on the tooth and inside the gum). It is indicated mainly to treat periodontal diseases (gingivitis, periodontitis or pyorrhea), but it is also indicated for the maintenance of the optimal health of the support tissues of the dental pieces.
The procedure is performed by quadrant, since in this way it is much more effective, since professionals concentrate much more on a single area of the mouth, which allows them to be much more thorough and thorough in each session. Normally, it is divided into four sessions, but sometimes, and depending on the patient's situation, it can be done in more or less sessions.
