The Peripheral Vascular specialty is the one that is in charge of all the pathologies of the circulatory part that do not have to do with the heart, such as arteries, veins and lymphatic system in people of all ages.
The consultation focuses on assessing, preventing, diagnosing and treating diseases; the most frequent are varicose veins, thrombosis or clots, arterial occlusion (due to cholesterol or clots), aneurysms and ulcers. This is complemented by a vascular ultrasound, which is used to evaluate the body's circulatory system and help identify blockages in the arteries and veins, and detect blood clots.
