Colonoscopy

Colonoscopy is an important, safe and affordable medical test that serves to diagnose and treat diseases of the colon (large intestine). It is done through the colonoscope, is introduced through the anal opening and allows you to see the inside of the intestine, as it has a video camera at its end whose image is seen through a monitor. To perform a colonoscopy it is necessary that the intestine is well cleaned of faecal remains, for this a preparation of the colon is required by means of laxatives that are taken orally or through enemas.
