Carotid endarterectomy

It is a procedure to treat carotid artery disease, this disease occurs when fat or waxy deposits accumulate in one of the carotid arteries. The carotid arteries are blood vessels found on the sides of the neck (carotid arteries). This buildup of plaques (atherosclerosis) can reduce blood flow to the brain. Removing plaques that cause narrowing of the artery can improve blood flow in the carotid artery and reduce the risk of stroke.
