t is a reconstructive surgery of the ligament that is in the center of the knee, the broken ligament is removed and replaced with a part of a tendon from another area of the knee or a deceased donor. The anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) holds the shin bone (tibia) in place, a rupture of this ligament can cause the knee to loosen during physical activity. This surgery is an outpatient procedure that is done through small cuts around the knee joint.
