It is said that a patient presents recurrent infection when he repeatedly shows the same condition, for example eight otitis or more per year; two or more serious sinusitis in the same period; infections refractory to antibiotics; two pneumonias or more per year; in children, retardation of pondoestatural development; frequent deep skin abscesses; need for intravenous antibiotics to relieve infections; oral or cutaneous candidiasis or persistent oral aphthae after one year of age; two serious or more serious infections, such as septicemia, osteomyelitis, meningitis; family history of primary immunodeficiencies.
