Trabeculotomy

Trabeculectomy is a surgical technique that aims to reduce intraocular pressure in cases of glaucoma in which high values of intraocular tension cause the optic nerve to begin to be affected. Therefore, this technique, which is considered a drainage surgery, is applied when treatment with hypotensive drugs (eyedrops) is not enough in certain patients and the disease continues to progress.
