Myomectomy

Myomectomy is a surgical procedure to remove uterine fibroids, also called fibroleiomyomas, leiomyomas, myofibromas or fibroids. These frequent noncancerous tumors appear in the uterus, usually during the fertile years, although they may appear at any age, myomectomy leaves the uterus intact and therefore is the preferred treatment for eliminating myomas in women seeking children.
