Transvesical adenomectomy is the surgical removal of the adenoma, benign growth or a non-cancerous tumor that grows in the prostate and obstructs the bladder neck, making it difficult or preventing urination (urination).
The intervention removes the "adenoma" and not the entire prostate. It is usually performed under general or locoregional anesthesia, through an incision in the abdomen above the pubis.
