The purpose of rehabilitation is to help the addict to leave compulsive search and consumption, the treatment can be given in many different ways and for different periods of time.

Addiction is a disorder where the person suffering from it has a recurrent and periodic compulsion, an uncontrollable desire to resort to the addictive object; it is considered a disease because substance abuse or compulsive behavior modifies the structure and functioning of the brain. Addiction is manifested by the compulsive use of one or several drugs or the compulsive repetition of a certain behavior (in the case of addictions without substance, such as addiction to gambling, food, shopping, etc.)
