A study of visual evoked potentials (VEP) evaluates the nerves that go from the eye to the visual cortex, it serves to diagnose problems in the optic nerves. The visual cortex is the part of the brain that allows vision. There are 2 types of PEV studies: flash modality and pattern mode, the implementation varies slightly depending on the age of the child and their degree of vision.
