Laser photovaporization of the prostate is an innovative procedure to vaporize part of the prostate gland, using a laser. It is used to relieve moderate to severe urinary symptoms caused by an enlarged prostate, a disorder known as benign prostatic hyperplasia.
Prostatic photovaporization is presented as an alternative to transurethral resection of the prostate (TUR) or traditional surgery.
