Panoramic radiography is a radiological technique that shows the bony structures (the maxillarys, the jaw joint and the teeth) of the patient's face in a single general image, for this, he uses a special, rotating X-ray machine around the patient's head.
Panoramic radiographs are especially useful for detecting caries, cases of advanced periodontal disease, teeth that have not erupted from the gum or all kinds of problems in the bone tissue of the maxillary or jaw. This type of dental radiography is also called orthopantomography.
