The retainers are passive devices either fixed (inside the front teeth) or removable (placed to sleep), custom made with the function of maintaining the final position of the teeth, preventing them from moving. Retainers play a crucial role, in case of not respecting the retention phase properly, the teeth will tend to return to the position they occupied at the beginning of the orthodontic procedure.
