It is a medical examination that allows direct visualization of the upper part of the digestive tract (Esophagus, stomach and duodenum), through a thin and flexible tube (Endoscope) that carries at its end a video camera whose image is transmitted to a display. Gastroscopy is usually performed under sedation, which reduces discomfort and allows the study to be well tolerated.
