Laser ureteroscopy (URS) is a procedure used to break stones in the kidney, bladder, or ureter (the tube that carries urine from the kidneys to the bladder). After the procedure, the tiny pieces of the stones leave the body through the urine. It is a safe, minimally invasive and painless procedure, since it is performed under anesthesia.
