Ovarian tumor

Ovarian tumors correspond to solid or cystic formations of the ovaries, which can be uni or bilateral. In the vast majority of cases, these are benign tumors, many of them functional, and only a very low percentage corresponds to malignant neoplasms, mainly in post menopausal women.

Curative treatment is surgery, which can be an ovarian cyst (removal of the cyst) or an oophorectomy (removal of the ovary). Regardless of the intervention selected, it does not present any pain for the patient because it is done while sleeping under general anesthesia.
